On the Other Side of the Bridge

The feature film 'On the Other Side of the Bridge' is the first Sino-Austrian coproduction. It is based on the true story of a 16 year old Viennese girl who falls in love with a Chinese student at the Vienna Police Academy and joins him in China in 1935. Through all the political turmoils and upheavals of 20th century China, they manage to maintain their love and faith in one other.
The film was first shown at the Montreal Film Festival 2002 and won the prize for the best male performance at the 'Faces of Love' festival in Moscow 2003. It was also chosen as the most popular film by the audience at the 17th Filmfestival of Bozen/ Bolzano, Italy.
Mrs Wolte was the primary consultant for this film and accompanied the project from the very beginning. She was involved in the pre- and post-production of the film and participated in the shooting in Anhui province, Shanghai (China), Vienna and Salzburg (Austria).
